Discovered after watching a travel show dreaming of our next getaway. My wife and I learned about orange wines and have since been exploring its nuances. Typically ranging between light and bold body wines; bold being a wine that comes across with stronger bitter notes, we came across Doralice, from the Vinho Verde region of Portugal after receiving great recommendations from our local wine shop Bay Grape here in Oakland. An organic-wine that is light bodied with subtle tannins, it is fresh and made with 100% Loureiro grapes. Fermentation entirely in concrete and stainless steel, the wine spends 8 weeks macerating with 10% whole-clusters (crushed with skins and some stem) and chestnut flowers to help stabilize the wine without sulfur. Easy to drink, we highly recommend for anyone looking for something a little bit different, and refreshing when firing up the grill on those warm summer days.

Doralice is a beautiful orange wine, that has a rich yellow color with floral citrus notes of orange, and lime on the nose. Light body wine, it is refreshing, dry and acidic, with a smooth round mouth feel with oceanic minerality and a slight bitter finish. Highly recommend.

Easy to drink, this wine pairs well with shellfish, soft cheese, and vegetarian dishes.
